A Mowoolim doctor performing a hair transplant

Hair transplant

Skilled in both FUT and FUE

A clinic that only knows how to cut will tell you FUE is poor. A clinic that only knows FUE will tell you the same about cutting.

Mowoolim performs both methods well, so we lean on neither. We analyse your donor area precisely and recommend the method that actually makes sense for you.

Method

What each method is good at

What FUT does well

Cutting allows fast surgery with minimal shaving, harvests efficiently from the smallest possible area, and keeps the surrounding hair fully intact.

What FUE does well

FUE avoids an incision, causes comparatively less pain, and can secure a larger number of grafts in a single session.

So the answer differs from person to person

Every patient has a different goal and different requirements, so the method that suits them has to differ too.

Some patients should not have one of the two methods at all, which is why nobody can say flatly that cutting is better or that FUE is better.

Because Mowoolim performs both methods well, we lean on neither. We analyse your donor area precisely and recommend the most reasonable method.

Mowoolim Hair Clinic

No Excess

We do not over-operate

Decades ago, before hair loss medication existed, there was no way to stop the progression, so surgery had to be done that way.

Now that medication exists, progression can be stopped almost completely in most cases, and there is no reason at all to operate like that.

We leave healthy areas alone

Grafting into a healthy area actually shocks the surrounding hair, thinning it and making the area look emptier than before.

Mowoolim holds it as a surgical principle that healthy hair is preserved as far as possible.

If 3,000 is right, 3,000 it is

Operating on 6,000 grafts when only 3,000 are needed is something that simply cannot happen at Mowoolim.

Come without worrying about an inflated quote.

Mowoolim Way

How Mowoolim grafts

Single-use implanters

A reused implanter goes blunt, which enlarges the graft wound and raises the chance of contamination.

At Mowoolim every used implanter needle is discarded, and only fully sterilised new ones are opened for each operation.

No ghost surgery, no handover

There is no ghost surgery and no shared operating here. One doctor takes charge from the first cut to the last graft.

A plan drawn in one doctor’s head, from the design through to the finish, can never be fully understood by another. The operating hand must not change, and that is our philosophy.

A design that suits the face

Rather than forcing an unreasonable operation to match a request, we assess your current condition accurately and propose the design that best suits your face.

Keeping the existing direction, proposing the best one

Hair grows in a different direction on everyone. The direction that styles well, though, may differ from the one you were born with.

Where the existing hair and the ideal direction diverge, we turn the grafted hair gradually, the way a good car takes a corner, so that it ends up growing in the best direction.

The right depth

A follicle set deeper than it should be can cause chronic folliculitis. Set too shallow, it fails to take and falls out.

The doctor feels the elasticity of your skin with his left hand, pulling and flattening it, while grafting with his right. He does all of it himself until the operation ends.

Fast where it counts, slow where it matters

Everyone knows that follicles should not sit outside the body for long. Working with a practised nursing team, we graft across a wide area at high speed, like a single pen dotting a page.

But once the wide area is done and we reach the border with existing hair, we slow to less than half speed to build a perfect gradient of density. Grafting the bulk quickly is what buys the time to be careful at the border.

A denser look

Can 1,000 grafts look like 1,500. At Mowoolim they can. Planting in neat rows is not enough.

Each time a new follicle goes in, we read the position and direction of what is already planted and place it where it covers the most visible gap, at the best angle. The density reads differently straight after surgery, and it reads fuller still as the hair grows out.

Grafting around the fine hairs

Hair harvested from the back of the head is generally thicker than the hair that lives along the hairline. Most clinics shave the recipient area completely and graft without regard to what is already there, which leaves a hairline built only from the new, thicker hair.

Mowoolim does not shave completely. We leave at least 5mm of length and graft between it, which produces a far more natural hairline.

We disclose the graft count

The doctor counts the grafts personally and tells you the number right after surgery. Saying that a certain length of incision must equal a certain number of grafts does not hold, because donor density differs enormously from patient to patient.

We diagnose the number you actually need, adjust the incision length and width to your donor density and elasticity, and count every additional graft, so you never receive fewer than planned.

You will not need to wonder whether 4,000 grafts really went in after surgery here.
